Horrible staff at this location. They are not helpful and give wrong advice. My son went into the bank to change his account plan and they said he couldn’t and that his parent would have to go in and change there account so he could change his. We went to the location at terminal and they helped him and changed his account no problem. I will never be going to this branch again. This is not the first time we were given wrong advice at this branch

I've been to several Bank of Montreal branches on Vancouver Island, and I had the best experience at this particular branch. I was helped quickly and the person helping me was friendly and very knowledgable. The branch was also very clean and tidy, and there was a good amount of parking available outside. Overall very good!

Some tellers here are very nice, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, others not good. Lack knowledge of their services and one teller recently was downright RUDE ( sorry, no name tags so don't have names). One of the managers did follow up on that occasion and that was unexpected and appreciated. They need more tellers on duty. Too much waiting in line for even simple transactions. Also, some tellers are chatting too long with customers about unrelated subjects when people are waiting. Friendly is good but be mindful of the people who are standing there, waiting and waiting! OK but definitely room for improvement. We do most of our banking, investments... with other banks now but previously in another BC city, BMO was our favorite by far. Nanaimo needs to catch up in that regard.

Their staff is always friendly, however, don't apply for a mortgage or a line of credit unless you can wait 2-3 weeks plus. We would have lost out on our home as they couldn't give us an answer for mortgage approval after 2 weeks (luckily RBC came through with time to spare).

I don’t appreciate that this bank does not have at least 1 day per week that they would stay open late until 6pm like other banks! Most people work until 5pm, so closing at 4:30pm daily seems a blantant lack of respect for the working class! Open on Saturday is helpful, but if one needs to do some banking, then one cannot go away for the weekend Friday evening to Sunday because the ONLY option is the Saturday!
