Comedy night! Special Event !! A Comedy night \by donation\ was advertised in the local paper. I had never been to this location before, but was Very Impressed with the Comedians, the Host, the even the Audience. Both Ryan Gunther and opening act Mikey Dubs had the audience roaring with laughter and willing to play along. I unfortunately I don't know the name of the Man who hosted/MC'd the event, but he's a talented comedian in his own right. The only disappointment was that the evening didn't last longer, I'm not saying that the event didn't last the expected amount of time, just that it was So Good and So Much Fun that We were sorry that it ended. The fact that All of this Fun was organized to Help support the Shelter that this community has created was a bonus, just another way that this event made a Very Positive Impression! The parking lot and entrance are handicapped accessible, so it's easy to get inside to enjoy whatever Special Events they have planned next. There was a brief mention of the Unitarian Fellowship, but it was a Very Humourous. There was no preaching or solicitation for members (as some feared) . Just a well attended and appreciated evening of Comedy. Next weekend they will be hosting a \Busking\ Event, with many Local favorites and some talent I haven't heard, yet! I recommend that You keep an eye out for Events here, I know that I will be looking forward to seeing what they do next.

Not your usual place of worship, things are a little more casual. Plus, a full kitchen.

The emergency shelter where I stay at the moment is the best. They improved so much in so little time it made me believe there is hope!

Great energy and positive attitude in this community. Dynamic services that touch both head and heart. A growing number of young families because of a great approach to religious education where every child is important for who they are. Our winter shelter for people without homes takes the same approach.

The most consciously welcoming place I have ever been. When I first moved to Nanaimo in 2013 I started attending services and found myself a part of a community of that strives to live its principles, which include valuing all people and treating everyone with dignity. As I have become more involved and gotten to know members more deeply, it has only served to make me value the fellowship even more. Together we form community and make a difference to those around us.
