Fantastic museum in the ancient town of Nantwich in Cheshire. Pre Roman town occupied by the Romans during thier time in Britain, mainly due to the salt mined here, which in Roman times was more valuable than gold! Museum has many hundreds of exhibits dating back to Roman and even pre-Roman times. Souvenirs, postcards and gifts available. Free entry (voluntary donation). A MUST VISIT if you are in Nantwich! 0

Because it gives all the history of Nantwich which most people might not know. And there's lots. And it's free but a donation would be good. It gives schools tours to
Small, but perfectly formed. Like Warwick, not big and flashy but really interesting and educational.
Friendly staff. Some interesting facts. Well laid out. Something for the children to do as well.
Really good! Well run and the volunteers did amazing job!
A fantastic little place with a goldmine of History and exhibitions of Nantwich and surrounding areas.when we visited it really opened my eyes to the past with interesting facts from the past, if you are interested in local History this place is a must visit. The staff are helpful and easy to approach and only too welcome to listen to you with your own views on certain things they might not know. A good souvenir shop I thoroughly loved it but then again I love local History so I am biased. If your on a day out and have a few hours to kill go and try it out you may like it.
Surprising little gem which is bigger than it looks from the outside.
The walking tour of Nantwich was splendid, the detail was just the right level. Fascinating historical facts and architectur. Our volunteer guides made the tour very enjoyable.
