The service we received the whole way through was absolutely dreadful. We lost a significant amount of time and money due to the lack of both correspondences and effort on their side. On almost all the occasions of dealing with the solicitor we were always made to feel like they were doing us a favour and we were told they were basically too busy to even deal with our case. We asked our solicitor to provide updates on the vendor’s onward purchase to understand where we were in the chain, to which we got told by Napthens that the response they had was “satisfactory” – however, they failed to mention these responses were in fact that the onward chain hadn’t even started and as a result we lost a significant amount of money on searches and fees and also around 4/5 months of time. In the end our onward property fell through and we were left with a big bill and back at square one.

Absolute shambles! 6 months to complete on a sale! We were passed around through 5 different conveyancers! We had one who essentially told us we were going to lose our new house as they couldn’t get our sale through in time. We were told “I have my own clients to deal with” as we were paying the company for a service I would assume we were their clients! They seem to forget that you are paying them for a service it’s not a favour! Towards the end I pointed out how long it had taken for our sale, in response I was told “would you rather nobody deal with your file” it felt like nobody was dealing with our file anyways! The communications through the whole process had been extremely thin, if it wasn’t for our estate agent I fear our sale may not have completed at all!

Martin Long was Captain of the ship and steered us through an arduous voyage in some very rough seas. A difficult sale through an extended and turbulent economic period he ensured things were calm when they needed to be and enthused us with great confidence when it mattered. Sally Calvert for the onward purchase was marvellous especially given the difficulties that Covid-19 threw our way. Really happy with the final bill and the service.

Very bad experience they over charge you amounts of money for silly stuff and are always trying to deal with other clients that are moving quickly in the Sales i am constantly chasing them costing me time and money
