I’ve lived in the city for over 25 years and just recently discovered this hidden gem. I love the entire park but this place is my favorite. It has beautiful natural landscaping with lots of shade and benches. If you visit the park make sure to spend some time here.

Probably one of the most quiet and tranquil parts of Golden Gate Park, this is where you go to do lunch with your lady or man. The small redwoods area is amazing. The grass area is medium sized and flat and a good spot to chill. Up further leads to some small trails going uphill next to a tiny but really beautiful and quaint stream. Like I said if you want to relax and meditate, this is a good choice.
