The State Bank of Pakistan (Central Bank), through National Institute of Banking & Finance (NIBAF), has launched National Financial Literacy Program for Youth (NFLP-Y) to impart basic financial education among Pakistani Youth and School going Children for strengthening their money management skills and understanding of financial issues. The NFLPY program aims to directly reach 1.6 million target groups across the country with key messages of why and how to budget, save, invest, and use financial products and services: • School going Children – from ages 9-12 • Adolescent – from ages 13-17 • University Youth – from ages 18-29 Some important features of NFLPY Program include the following: • To proactively engage educated YOUTH in urban and rural areas as primary actors (change agents) and recipients of the Program. • To engage with target groups already linked to institutions, e.g. Universities, Colleges, Schools, TVET institutions, existing projects and programs, making it possible to exponentially extend Program outreach across the country in a cost efficient, fast paced and sustainable manner.
