Let's be honest, there's not an awful lot to do out there at the moment is there! So I thought I'd make my first visit to the museum in over 20 years. Covid guidelines means that it's now on a ticket system to keep numbers small, so if you don't have a ticket, you're not getting in. Tickets are easily booked via the website and are still free, so no issues. Lots on renovation work going on at the moment, can't be helped. Certain attractions have obviously been cornered off and made redundant as to be expected. So the whole experience probably isn't as 'interactive' as you might remember from a visit 6 months ago, but still well worth going. It's just as educational and interesting there, you're just done a wee bit quicker. The shops in the center of the foyre are the only ones open, I picked up a couple of bits and there are signs up not to handle merchandise if possible. The restaraunt is open, I didn't need to visit it though so can't comment. It's a free afternoon out to support your local arts and culture, get down there

The National Museum of Wales is awesome, entrace was free but donations are welcome and it has coffee shop too. Amazing place to go with family. Lots of dinosaurs and natural history so much fun, love it!
A great museum, it has a great ice age area which is very informative. It has a good art area which has a large range of art and sculptures. It can take a while to get around the entire building if you are trying to take in all the information. Most of the area is completely free with members of staff nearby to help you with any information that you need. The snake area is paid for (7.50) per adult we didn't go in this area so I'm not sure how good this was. There is also a cafe which sells snacks and drinks for a reasonable price. Overall a really nice place to visit.
What a fantastic place to visit. I was absolutely amazed by the geological significance of Wales and the vast array of specimens found in wales. Some real beautiful natural history artifacts from wales and all over the globe. The fossil and dinosaurs exhibits were amazing a so well presented too. All the family really enjoyed our morning there and we will definitely go back again.
Beautiful museum built in Cardiff's golden era when coal was king. Nice collection of Welsh art, popular dinosaur etc exhibits for the kids, and special exhibitions. In November 2020 a moving exhibition of Richard Burton.
