I lover this museum, its not that big, but has a lot to show. Formerly the residence for cardinals, the seat for the Austrian ambassador to the Vatican, office of Benito Mussolini...and now a beautiful National Museum P.S. In late 2010, the secret bunker of Mussolini was found beneath the building. Note: no elevator for a stroller (you’ll need to care the stroller up to the 2rd floor) Note2: free entrance every first Sunday of the month (as well as other municipal museums)
I personally found this museum okay, but it by far didn't belong to my favourite sights. We had access to it as it was part of another sight but I wouldn't recommend spending 10 euros just for this. Some parts are interesting but audio guide and signs are only revealing semi interesting information. If you're short on time, skip this one!
This museum can be visited in the Roma city pass. This in near the capitoline hill and in the piazza venezia square. There is not much of collection but whatever is available is very well presented. The hall with ancient type of painting is huge but requires us to read or hear about it. Knight’s armory collection is good
The entrance to the National Museum of Palazzo Venecia is included in the ticket to the Altare Dr la Patria. More than the items displayed in the museum, I found interesting the building itself, the beautiful atrium and nice ornamental ceilings with chandeliers.
