It is located in the central zone of Belgrade on a square plot between the Republic Square, formerly Theatre Square, and three streets: Čika Ljubina, Vasina and Laze Pačua. Its main facade is on the Republic Square and the official address ia 1a Republic Square.
Nice museum is a good size. 3 floors of paints, sculptures, ceramics, and history. They have a good selection of paints.... international and national. The ticket cost for adults 300 dinars students 150. They are very strict with the covid guidelines so be sure you bring a mask and antibacterial. They did not let bring inside my little cuddle toy.... they forced me to put my handbag in the cloak room. Not videos, not flash photography not touching he was very imperative , I felt watched all the time they made me feel like I was a thief I was the only one in the museum. I think they should relax more since is an army of people working inside. In the national gallery Uk they are very chill and they have millions of people coming in ever year. The toilets were clean they have a coffee shop at the top with a vendo machine.
It's the number one museum in Serbia with the most important national and international masterpieces of art from Prehistoric era until the twentieth century. It's newly renovated and adapted for presenting the history of art in the pleasant environment of the three storey historical building at the central square of Belgrade. You would need at least three hours to explore the entire permanent exhibition setting.
On the positive side the zoo has quite a display of exotic animals. The zoo is integrated with the old city wall and fortification structures which is quite cool. On the negative side many of the animals don't have enough space and wander back and fort with stereotypic behavior. I would suggest getting rid of some of the less interesting animals and using the space freed to give the rest more room for movement and natural behavior.
Finally it has been opened! Very good set up, I would recommend to take a tour with a guide even after covid-19. As I am informed there is a Web presentation of our Museum online also. Enjoy your time
A small and wonderful museum in the center of the capital, Belgrade, and the most beautiful section of ancient Egyptian civilization and mummies
Really good introduction to Serbian history. The roman exhibit is top notch as well as Serbian art.
