Clean rooms, comfy beds, very quiet. We were the only ones there! Pretty nice.

Had a delightful stay in Nauvoo at the Willard Richards Inn. Stayed here for the historical value and location of the inn. Very close to the Nauvoo temple and a lot of small details and decorations in the inn that are very keeping with the era. The hosts Finnegan and Diana were very kind and inviting and provided a delicious, wonderful breakfast. We hope to stay there again.
Most incredible stay. Extremely friendly. The breakfast was the most perfect end to our stay.
Great stay in an historical setting
I agree with Chris Smith's review. Our room was very clean and in good repair. The bathroom was up-to-date. The A/C and fan kept the room comfortable. This is, as Chris observed, a room rental, not a bed and breakfast, as is commonly known. If you want your privacy, you got it. No group interaction at all. The proprietors were pleasant, but not warm. It doesn't seem to be their way. We were, however kept apprised of activities via text message, which we appreciated. If this fits your requirements, then it is a good place to stay.
Pretty good place
Very historic house. Willard Richards was secretary for Joseph Smith and was actually in the Carthage Jailhouse (unharmed) with Smith when the mob murdered the Prophet. 1) Perfect location for visit to historic area. 2) Very clean. 3) Very comfortable bed and linens. 4) Reasonable pricing. 5) Friendly in-keepers. Nice gardens and little touches around the house. 6) Not really a B&B- they make it clear that breakfast is very simple basket delivered to your room, so do not expect to be served any breakfast in the (lovely) dining room. 7) Only Complaint- so many guests are Mormon and thus, do not drink coffee, that the Inn's only offering is INSTANT COFFEE, no cream and no nothing. If you are coffee drinker, be prepared for depravation.
Our experience didn't 100% meet our expectations, but if you're aware of what you're getting going in, you can be satisfied. I have stayed in 2 B&B's before and in both, a lavish breakfast was provided by a gracious host who lived in the home. You get to sit at a table and interact with fellow guests, which is part of the pleasure of the B&B experience for me. This is not the case, as breakfast is a continental breakfast that is all room temperature and there were no staff to be found. Coffee is instant that you prepare yourself, bring cream and sugar if you want some, as I couldn't locate any. The home is lovely and the bikes add tremendously, we rode all over town that afternoon and evening and had a ball. You MUST have the buffet at the Hotel Nauvoo, it's outstanding and also full of character. Make sure you get a room with a private bath if that's important to you, some rooms require a jaunt across a public space to shower etc. I would suggest staying on the 3rd floor. We stayed on the 2nd floor and at 7 am on Sunday, the guests above apparently started a bowling tournament, so any thought of sleep or intimacy at that point was a challenge. Shortly after that, kids started running around and it was not relaxing. Neither are the inn's fault, but be aware of these issues so you can be aware or work around them. The level of finish is impressive and the town is very nice, as long as you don't expect the typical B&B experience, you can enjoy your stay.
