At first I was a bit amazed to hear such a stupid question from none other than him. Without even thinking for a second I said Yes….!!!! yelling to his face. But after a while this question made me curious to ask him why did he asked me such a question when you are learning music from a reputed institute in the city? he said its too complex to understand than the western music. Ohhh…!! I said  and then my brain lit up with the answer. So as we all know music has no boundaries but the form of music does change. The indian classical music can be roughly divided in to two categories Hindustani Classical & Karnatic Classical Music. The way of presenting each style of music is way different than each other. Basically the base of this music or for the matter of fact any music is same but the way it is presented is totally different and it does requires some learning. Indian Classical music is very vast like a never ending ocean the more deeper you discover the more enlightened you get. The different types of raaga and various bandish made out from these raaga’s can help us and every musician in its never ending carrier of music. But just indian classical music will not actually help you but when you learn to use these bandish in to the western presentation of music surely success is yours. For all this to come together one should have a very good ear coz listening to more and more such music will help your ear train and will help you getting used to this genres.
