The grounds are nice and the history is also very interesting. Keep in mind 2 things. 1) Make a booking for breakfast and avoid disappointment in missing out and 2) breakfast starts at 8:30am. Come early for pictures but don't expect to eat before 8:30am. Have a stroll in the park below the lighthouse and get pictures of the sun across the bay which are excellent shots. The lighthouse closes at 3pm so get in early and spent the rest of the day in the town centre.

Love it !! The walk is not too long and it's really worth it, because the view up there is amazing !! You can see some island and zenith and Nelson bay beaches. I really recommend this place, it's the best lookout.

One of the best views in Port Stephens from the inner light house

The breakfast here IS AMAZING! We ended up going to the lighthouse about 4 times for the view and 2 times for the food. However you HAVE to have a reservation to sit outside for the view or else you'll be seating inside or they won't have a spot for you at all.

Small place with nice cafe and free museum ( gold coin donation). No actual lighthouse is there. It is an old room where lanterns used to be hanged in past for boats in Nelson bay. Great view of Nelson bay.

A few too many people for my liking, parking is a nightmare up the top but I was on a motorbike so I found somewhere to park. I'd suggest during busy times parking down the bottom and walking up. Beautiful views of the surrounding bays so it's worth a trip up there. The museum didn't appear to have anyone attending to it so I didn't get to see inside.
