Killer climb up but so worth it!
Gentle railroad grade trail suitable for walking, jogging and biking. Downhill to Troup Beach on Kootenay Lake, three trestles and two waterfalls. Watch out for ravenous hoardes of mosquitoes on the beach starting around June. Uphill to Cottonwood Lake, two trestles and one clear-cut. Popular for dog walking and fishing. Cooler than town in August. Not too busy, especially uphill.
Live up there beautiful
Lots of good trails for all levels of experience, rather trendy though so collapsible graphite walking sticks brand name shoes etc dressing for the wilderness bear spray or knife sheath on your belt will get you looks of derision, even if just passing through to the wilderness. There is wildlife Bears ,coyotes, cougars etc. You will also see bags of dog feces everywhere on the side of the main trail in the bush even hanging in tree's This areas more Stanley park people than wilderness despite being mostly wilderness.
