One of the entrances for the greenspace's Lime Kiln Trail is located on Moodie drive beside the Moodie (Tomlinson) Quarry. It is a nice walk with many birds, animals, trees and wetlands. On the trail you will find the ruins of a late 1800's kiln that was used to refine lime from the escarpment that is located 20 meters from the path. Also on the path you can see the damages made in the wetland swamp by a fire and the recovery of this area. Take your time to look around even if you are walking your dog.

Love this trail so much! Beautiful and has options for how far you want to walk. Once you get to the beaver and chipmunk trails it gets even better with the boardwalk.
Very nice trail with a variety of terrain (crushed rock wide paths, boardwalks, and some forest paths). There is free parking for 15-20 cars, and dogs are allowed in the summer. The ruins are the main attraction and are only about 10 minutes into the trail. This makes it ideal for people who just want a small walk. Or you can continue all the way to the end and loop back for a 4.5km hike. There are a handful of nice panels with educational / historical information about the area. Make sure to bring bug spray in the summer or you’ll get eaten alive!
Excellent well marked trail. Bring bird seed and you will have lots of chickadees eating from your hands. Also interesting side trail where you can still see the impact of the 2012 forest fire.
This is a very easy walking trial with ruins from an old lime kiln. There are lots of birds you can feed right from your hand so bring along bird seed.
