First time trying Sri Lankan food and will definitely be back. Delicious fresh ingredients and great presentation.
This quirky smallish restaurant located next to a petrol station serves some very good Sri Lankan food with very limited drinks selection. Probably more of a take away place - it is setup for dine in, in a comfortable and clean space. The food was nice, the menu was a little confusing, and the more the waiter explained it the more confused I got. There is not a lot of variety on the menu, but you should find something you like and the quality was very good. There are very limited drinks available. I ordered the apple juice, i was expecting a normal apple juice, but it was a special Sri Lankan drink which I did not like, but worth a try you might like it!
Our group of 8 enjoyed a wonderful tasty Sri Lankan lunch. Ru was welcoming and clearly proud of what his family is creating here, authentic dishes, creative fusions and a relaxed casual atmosphere. It's still early days for this fledgling restaurant. We'll be back!
The food at Gara Yaka is DELICIOUS! We dinned in and the aroma when you first walk in is mouth watering! We ordered and the food was fresh and tasty, oh and generous serving sizes too! Definitely would go back again and highly recommend! You won't be disappointed.
Moved to Gold Coast from Melbourne and this is easily the best restaurant on the Gold Coast in its price range. Amazing food and consistent quality everytime I go. Food is made fresh to order which I LOVE. Ru (the chef) is excellent with the customers and he makes you feel right at home. Definitely my go-to restaurant at the moment.
So yum. Highly recommend. We will be back for sure!
Great food, authentic Sri Lankan style and very reasonably priced. Food presentation was excellent. Chef was very helpful with explaining what different items in the menu were as some of the items were new to me. Well worth a try!!!
