Polymer tubes, partly filled with blood, are formed into re-closable loops and are rotated with a rotation speed between 10-40 RPM in a temperature controlled water basin, to simulate arterial flow conditions. This device offers an experimental platform for testing interactions of blood with artificial materials and surfaces, their biocompatibility or, to be precise, haemocompatibility and haemorheological effects.
