Essen war sehr gut. Servers need to take german lessons. Hotel a bit outdated. Golf course looked beautiful. Therme very relaxing. Rooms are large.

Very nice hotel, spacious room and good breakfast. The spa and pool is great. Bed is a bit lumpy and uncomfortable.

Overall, the hotel is fairly nice, with spacious rooms, a very long outdoor pool as well as different sauna types. Also, the staff were nice. However, there are a few things lacking to make it feel like a genuine "4-stars superior" experience. To begin with, the rooms had some dusty corners and, worse, the balcony was so exceedingly dirty as to make it an ordeal spending time there (with a dirty ashtray and filthy plastic chairs.) Moreover, even though we asked for quiet rooms, one had an annoying pitched sound (probably some air pipes). The new one was somewhat better, though still not really quiet. Speaking of noise, I needed to switch off the fridge at night as it made a rattling sound at night. Funny enough, the fridge was hooked up such that it got turned off whenever the key card was removed (i.e., all day long)... not so great for the remains of the lovely fruit plate that was kindly provided on the first day. There were other issues, some of them perhaps owing to current Covid measures (an underwhelming breakfast buffet) or construction (the pool could only be reached by walking through the restaurant and its affiliated terrace; and the massage room was quite cold), some minor yet annoying (Wifi needs repeated login and is shaky). However, the impression remains that the somewhat mediocre standard does not quite live up to the magnificent appearance of the Roman-style complex. Both breakfast

Very nice hotel, with inside and outside pool. The rooms are big, furniture from 90s but stil classy. The only 2 problems are the very bad Wifi and the lack of AC.

Good size rooms, clean and cosy. Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Nice outdoor pool and spa facilities. Gym is a little small, but has everything you need and never seems to be particularly busy, so it's fine. The restaurant is tasty, if a little expensive and has a couple of vegan options, which is a bit limited, but better than nothing.

Omg, where to start? The decoration is a complete fail, a pseudo-Roman style that looks terribly cheap. The room was outdated with a very uncomfortable bed and miserable bathroom, the shower hardly worked. Food was very bland and basic for all meals. Staff was very friendly and they tried their best. But this hotel is past its prime and in desperate need of refurbishment.

It was a nice hotel with giant rooms, and the baths are the major draw to the area. But so much just seems unnatural. For example, the dining room, which is painted in Roman style, is over the top trying too hard. A nice place to spend a weekend perhaps, so long as you do things constantly and don't want quiet time to sit and relax
