Wonderful hut. Modern renovations and facilities but still keeping the traditional alpine style. The mattress rooms are a lot more spacious than other huts which makes it more comfortable. The food was some of the best I have experienced in any alpine hut. Nice also that at breakfast they give you a packet to take some extra bread etc for a packed lunch with no additional cost. Breakfast had some nice extras like fruit compared to other huts. Also good was there are many power outlets for charging.

Lovely family running this hut in a beautiful location. They even prepared special 'sausage and chips' dinners just for our children, and gave them milk and hot chocolate in the morning. Their own children have decorated the walls with drawings of the helicopter hauling supplies to the remote area, which were lovely to see. The hut is currently undergoing lots of renovations, but they still fit us in just fine. The view outside the top window at night was stunning...clearest view of the night sky along the Stubai rucksack route. Wonderful memories.

Fantastic hut(s) old and new in a wonderful location on the Stubaier Hohenweg. Spectacular views in all directions. Awesome tasting food. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

The first impression of the hut, as you arrive with the waterfall and the view are amazing. However, much to our shock, upon arrival we were „greeted“ by this landlady, who for some reason was unpolite, and furious over the fact that we didnt have a reservation. After attempting to apologize repeatedly and try to find a solution, we were shocked to see her trying to put us down and disrespect us in front of everyone. She clearly was angry, unstable and did not want to find a solution. It was already late and it was impossible to walk to the next hut. After denying us of even the possibility to have a dinner after a long hike, we were honestly just trying to stay calm so we put smth in our stomachs. After trying repeatedly to find a solution, she sent us away to sleep outside in out tent(even tho we did not want to sleep out) at almost 21:00 at night..on top of that when we told her that perhaps a storm would come, she simply said „das is dein problem“. Finally even tho we had a tent, for emergency, we did not want to use it and she actually insisted that we go camp up to the glacier. In the meantime she was talking to the people who control the camping in the area about us, which really made no sense! The aftermath of this insane unfriendly behavior was that we actually had to hike down to the closest city and break our goal of completing the Stubai High Trail. The hut seemed to have many free rooms as there were not so many people. This woman also treated bad some other hikers, warning them that they are „crazy“ and „stupid“ for wanting to attempt the glacier hike..they also thought she was super angry and controlling.. As we literally did nothing but talk nicely with her, it is Safe to say this was nothing other than pure discrimination.

This lodge sheltered a child many years ago. It was the closest thing to a home that God gave her on earth.

Nice location, but at the peak season, super full and not very friendly staff. As for the food, I cannot say, as we left instead of staying overnight because we were disappointed.

Very family friendly hut. Currently undergoing renovations and expansion so some amenities are reduced.
