Went here for lunch, it's a great little place with a lovely vibe. The service was very friendly and informative, they gave us a heads up that there is a 45 minute wait on mains, which was fine by us. Ordered garlic bread to start, which I think they initially forgot about, so chips were on the house, which was appreciated, although we weren't fussed either way. The rump steak was supposed to be medium, and was a little overdone but great smoky flavour which is different to your typical pub steak. Chicken was really nice, crispy on the outside with a bit of char, and well balanced with the lemon and fennel. Broccolini and garlic bread were tasty too. 10% surcharge on Sundays and public holidays but otherwise totally worth a stop if you want a generous lunch and don't mind the wait.
In the middle of nowhere....what a surprise. Super friendly owners..good coffee...great food and fast service. Try the pizza and the cheese cake. I hope the new owners will do just as great. Well worth a pit stop..
Great meal in a great atmosphere. We made a trip up the mountains to support the Bilpin community after the fires. Stopped for lunch here & really enjoyed it. Will come back.
Very cute place in Bilpin. The menu was basic and isn't overwhelming with choice. Good selection of the local Apple ciders in the drink menu. Pizza (20) was quite big (shared this between 2) and the wood fire makes it crispy on wedges and soft gooey cheesy in the middle. The hot chips (9) were so tasty with the rosemary and salt. Pretty good hot chippies.
This place has really nice food it’s just a shame that the food took ages to come out considering the place was pretty quiet. I was very disappointed that a bowl of chips costs 15! Everything on the menu seems to be very expensive.
The food here is great!! My only criticism is the wall menu is too vague and needs an accompanying table menu. For example - how is the chicken cooked (grilled / deep fried) and what is it served with? What else comes on the potato pizza (anchovies and garlic in case you’re wondering). Other than that - delicious. Eggplant parmigiana was a highlight! Keep up the good work.
Didn’t get a chance to eat here as we were rushing to find our tour. It was sad to see the remnants of the fires and flooding, but the chef and waitress were kind and positive. They helped us find our way around the Blue Mountains with only a sliver of information that I could remember. Regret not being able to support them after the fires and flooding, but wanted to drop a review to say a big thank you for their kindness! My boyfriend has not stopped talking about how nice they were for helping us.
