Ten minutes to 5pm, on 12.04.20, the doors were locked, and the extra pick up area was open servicing customers. Signage & website says open till 5:30.There were workers there that waved myself, and at least 6 other people away. They said that they closed at 4:30pm today. Please update signage, website, and provide better customer service.

Due to Covid, I could not be with my niece for her recent first birthday...and thanks to this post office, it seems the gift I ordered and had shipped to her has now fallen into a black hole and she may never receive it. The parcel was transferred to USPS by UPS and the tracking has listed it as having arrived at the \Hub\ in New Britain on Jan. 1. There has been no movement since. I've tried to call this post office, nobody answers and then I'm disconnected. Judging by all the other awful reviews here specifically about missing packages/mail at this location, this is clearly nothing new. My question is how do they continue to get away with this and not have anyone to answer to as to why packages repeatedly disappear once they land here? Nobody higher up at USPS cares? And they just repeatedly ignore customers who have missing items? This is absolutely unacceptable. I realize there has been unprecedented volume recently, but it sounds like this was an issue with this particular post office long before now/the current circumstances. Others have mentioned theft of packages and it certainly does seem suspicious that this place has a reputation for having packages show up there and then just disappear. Someone needs to take this seriously and address it.
This particular post office lost (or stole?) a very valuable package of mine, gave me and the customer a run around several times and have been a nightmare to deal with. Will probably never mail anything through usps after this experience.
ALWAYS receive mail postmarked sometimes a MONTH before I receive it. The mail carriers drop the entire buildings mail into the leasing office and tell them to figure it out. Absolutely unacceptable service. This place needs to get the house cleared from the top down and revise their attitude when you call and talk to the postmaster. There is a level of customer service you need to provide.
For 2 days I have not received my mail. Per my informed delivery, I was to get mail. This happens a few times every month. I have complained multiple times, but nothing changes!
