My home church is housed in a huge building on Monument Square in New Brunswick. There are stained glass windows, a beautiful, historic pipe organ, a grand sanctuary with high ceilings and balcony on three sides. On the other side of the organ is the Sunday school building with a few floors of classrooms, offices and upper & lower fellowship halls. During the week, the Sunday school doubles as a day care center and self-help groups use the halls. But what makes a church is its congregation. Ours is very diverse, with members originating from many European, African, Asian, Caribbean and South American nations. Our music program reflects the diversity of our people. We have a chancel choir, a bell choir and a spirit band that contribute to Sunday worship and special services. We are very active with charity programs, supporting Elijah's Promise, donating loaded backpacks for needy children in the fall, warm hats & mittens in the winter. We join with other New Brunswick churches to provide overflow shelter to the homeless when temperatures drop below freezing, and our young people volunteer at a mission school in Africa. Our pastor, Cyndi Stouffer, is so warm and loving! Right now she is with a group on a trip to the Holy Land, but most Sundays find her in the pulpit offering inspirational words for the heart-sick . We have prayer warriors, a Devotion in Motion dance troupe, weeknight Bible study and recreation programs. And with such a diverse congregation - many of whom are terrific cooks - you know our potlucks are not to be missed. Come and join us! Sunday worship at 11:00, children's Sunday school during worship and adult Sunday school at 9:30. (We don't have our own parking, but the Morris Street parking deck offers vouchers to church -goers.)
