The wait to get into the commercial gate at this facility can be extreme at times. Especially if you arrive first thing in the morning. The gate guards at the commercial gate seem to have an authoritarian complex. I've been to this facility numerous times. Occasionally, getting through the Covid interrogation and temp check is straight forward, but usually we get attitude from whoever is doing this job. (Today was especially bad.) And the police themselves generally behave as if they are doing you a supreme favor by 'processing' you through, rather than recognizing that both the general public and vendors are their customers. Processing through to pick up or deliver freight is hit or miss at best. Today the agent was fairly competent at his job but didn't seem to understand how to speak into the microphone, so we had to ask that nearly everything be repeated. On other trips we've had agents that didn't seem to understand what they were supposed to be asking for, didn't know which forms needed signatures, etc. We've finally decided it just isn't worth the time or aggravation to come back to this facility.

My company manufactures whiteboards among other things. We used to have a contract with the GAO that ended when Obama sequestered the budget. Now the Government must purchase our product through one of our vendors, yet we still do the shipping. These items should not be shipped laying flat on pallets as they may get damaged. Therefore we bring them individually boxed standing upright, requiring a manual unloading. Two previous deliveries the dock crew obliged this method of receiving, taking longer but that's okay. This past week they refused to unload, requiring everything to be on pallets. Delivery was refused.

A little bit of a hassle getting in there, but all in all I was in and out pretty quickly. The security is necessary.

Trying to set a delivery appt is almost impossible and no one over there is willing to help you. I have made deliveries there for over 2 years and not one has been easy.
