IIITD has got the best hostel facility. Both Old and New Boys hostels have 24x7 wifi, AC/heater at night, well maintained washroom and a common room with board games and other recreational stuff. House keeping and maintenance staff is just a call away. Hostels at IIITD are probably the best in the country (including private colleges).

The maintainence has gone down. The old hostel is in wrecks and there is nothing which might make the stay bearable. The charge for hostel is Rs 8,500 per month for single occupancy. The rooms are 'air conditioned' but beware of the caveat. The ACs run only for around 4 hours a day out which 2 hours will go when the AC is not working and is faulty. Half of February and entire March went without the AC being functional. It is April and I don't see any sign which suggest if they will be functional. The reason quoted was 'It is not cold or hot enough to turn them on' but no matter what the rent is the same even if they do not turn the AC on. The hostel lacks regular maintainence. The paint has worn off and so have the electrical fittings. It is not very wholesome to live here. The administration never fogs the place. There is a mosquito infestation throughout the campus. The administrative norms are way prescriptive. I have attached a few pictures which speak for themselves. They should either decrease the rent or should better the services and maintainence.

Brand new hostels with fire safety and air conditioning system. Rooms have lot of natural light and adequate facilities and clean bathrooms

It is the the best engineering hostel that i have ever visited. I study in IIT KANPUR and my brother studies here and that's why I had a chance to visit here. The rooms have a great interior including beds, chair and cupboard. The special thing is that the rooms have A.C. which cools in summers and also provides heat in winters. The common room has coffee machine, microwave etc. The TV in common room has almost all subscriptions Netfix, amazon prime, etc. Overall a great place to live.
