I used to live in New Earswick and the Folk Hall was the centre of village holding a local dance on a Friday and Saturday night that had been popular in York and the surrounding area since the 1950's sadly it's stopped now such a shame it brought a lot of people together. The Folk Hall is the home of the library now with a cafe and meeting place of the older generation of the village. This Hall will always get 5 stars from me.....

Library is great for kids, librarians very helpful and chatty with my toddler. Topped off by a lovely sandwich for both of us for lunch
