I had the most amazing experience with April. I’m very picky about my hair and she listened to all my concerns and made suggestions based on what had previously been done to my hair. Very knowledgeable and used only the best products. The perm have been impeccable. April and the whole team were very friendly and approachable.

Today was absolutely horrendous experience. At First Choice New Glasgow. The waiting area empty... With no appointments, she repeated its walk in service. I'm walking in I said. The others? They walked in earlier and left. She could not tell me when to come back. I said " did you tell the others approximately when to come back " well yes. But you are booked until 12 pm on walk- in but can't give me a rough idea when to return for a simple trim. She realized she was making no sense and said there is only two of us. Yet she runs the place and can't make a list . Its not complicated. Shops have operated walk ins when you showed up on horse and wagon. Wow, so sad, not polite or professional. No explanation only excuses, no clue, and worst of all no apology. I Have never been to a shop that did not know how or when to tell there customers when to return for a haircut. If not busy they cut hair fine. But I believe their difficulty in maintaining staff is managment, and utter disorganization. And if its walk in maybe the would be less confused if it wasn't walk in guess appointment. Walk in. Is busy wait or leave try later. Sounds a lot easier that a waste of time. Shocking

My Mother is 91 suffers from chronic health condition and has severe dementia and is very frail. After keeping her isolated due to Covid and not having her hair done professional in well over a year I took her to First Choice March 6th. It was very busy and I spoke to the young man about getting her hair done and explained the limitations of her condition.He said I would "have to make an appt." The following week she was not able to go so today March 17 she was able to get out and have it done. I called to make an appt was told by Claudine" they don't do appts ". I explained Moms issues and she said bring her in she might have a little wait.That's fine not looking to cut in the line. When we arrived there was one woman being served and one waiting. I asked if we could wait outside has Mom may get confused if she waits in side. I was told it would be about half an hour. They took name and number Well waiting 4 young men went in. One came out and then the woman who was waiting was done and leaving. So I went in to see if they were ready for Mom but of course 2 of the 4 that walked in after us were waiting for there turn so we were told another wait, I specifically asked if we would lose our place if we didn't wait inside and was told no she was next. They should have said she would have to wait inside to keep her turn , we don't do accommodations if you need to wait in your vehicle. It would have been less hurtful and honest . On the upside I found a wonderful salon owner after leaving there who treated Mom with such kindness and is pleased to take her on has a client even with her disabilities and changing health issues.

Great stylists and barbers, able to do both mens and womens cuts to spec. Only drawback is that you can not phone in chair reservations and must be present, in person, to reserve a time slot.
