One of the best spots to get a meal in downtown New Haven. Excellent outdoor seating options in a courtyard with terrace d steps behind you and heating units. Often have live jazz and blues which makes the atmosphere even more inviting. Excellent appetizer offerings, wine selection and diverse menu. If you enjoy seafood, the Rainbow Trout is excellent! An awesome place for a relaxing night out.

This is one of my favorite spots in New Haven. They are great for brunch, dinner or happy hour. The sunken patio is nice, and because it is off the street, it is peaceful and quiet. I LOVE their Brussels sprout salad and I have never had anything bad. They usually have a prix fixe menu so it is quite affordable. I highly recommend next time you’re in town.
We had Sunday brunch in April, outdoors in the large courtyard about 20 feet below street level. It was an unexpected delight - for 20, two courses from a menu with items like really good lobster bisque, eggs benedict with ham, and a terrific BLT with Canadian bacon. A nice vibe, and stayed pleasant on an afternoon with a bit of a chill.
Scallops were the best no fishy taste nice big size.
I came here today with a friend to grab a quick lunch. The lobster bisque she ordered was sour tasting. I ordered gnocchi and it was NOT good- it was garnished in CINNAMON! Next came dessert.. me oh my. The cheesecake we ordered was presented beautifully on the plate (all of the food LOOKED good) but the cheesecake itself was terrible. It was orange on the side but I thought "oh well, this is a fancy place, it must be aged for extra taste". It was so bad that I yacked in my mouth. I asked the server to take it back, to which he apologized and said he shouldn't haven given that to us. He said it was their mistake and did not charge us. The staff was very friendly but they need to get a new chef in there before this place goes down under. I will give them a second chance in the future, maybe it was an off day for them, who knows.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in new haven. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Lupe is also always great and efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in downtown!
The food was absolutely amazing. Perfect portions and the staff was amazing. My Espresso Martini was delightful. We were celebrating a birthday and our evening ended with complimentary champagne. Can't wait to return again!
Delicious dinner and perfect for outdoor dining during Covid! This was my first dining out experience since March when Covid started and I was pleasantly surprised by Harvest. They have tons of outdoor seating and all the tables are spread apart from each other that you don't have to be concerned about the people near you. All the waiters are also wearing masks as well. What we ordered, in the order of what I liked the most to least: Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad - WOW! The salad was amazing with Parmesan inside it as well as in the risotto cake the salad was on top of Crispy Artichokes - the lemon aioli, jalapenos, and red onions added some acidity to the rich crispy artichokes Wood Fire Hanger Steak - cooked perfectly. Loved dipping it in the buttery mashed potatoes Everything Fries - Fries are usually good and these were good but they were not great. Short Rib Mac & Cheese - this was better on paper than in practice. It was just on the blander side. I was hoping for something with more flavor. Overall - great first dining out experience and I will definitely be back to Harvest!
