Stark Mountain Woodworking produces an excellent product, especially when it comes to cabinets. They built a custom kitchen, 3 bathroom vanities and 5 custom doors for our home in Lincoln. Pricing appeared fair and competitive with the initial bid we received. Where they made their profit was and absurdly high installation fee, which they estimate between 15-20% of the total price. They charged me 20%! The owner was very defensive when I questioned this number. I got over that so that we could get through the rest of the project. They built our bedroom doors with a thin lightweight material that has zero sound proofing properties, you can hear a pin drop between bedrooms. They built a pocket door for our office/ bedroom of solid material that was far too heavy and thick for the opening, impossible to operate, took no responsibility for this issue. They made custom vent covers for the exterior of the house out of some laminate/ cardboard like material that began to fall apart within year or two of installation. The real problem with Stark Mountain is that the only point of contact is the owner Skimmer. He comes across as very charming and knowledgeable at the start of the project. But if you disagree with him or question any issues with their products he basically shuts you out, denies responsibility for the problem. The bottom line is, terrible customer service and deceptive pricing. I would caution doing business with this company unless money and time is not an issue for you.
