Very cool collection. The inlay work on the early guitars is beautiful. Second floor exhibit (pianos, harpsichords, etc) is really interesting, they provide headphones with audio recordings for the different instruments in display. It's also free!!!

This is a small but amazing collection of very old musical instruments. There are woodwind instruments such as oboes, keyboard instruments such as harpsicords, stringed instruments such as violins, bells of various types, and a few other items as well. Allow 45 minutes to go round the museum.

Free museum with a lot of displays on the evolution of modern musical instruments. If you're in New Haven and are interested in music, this is a cool place to stop.

A good place to see old instruments, it's a small place but if you see each detail and you understand of music you can spend almost 2 hours to see the whole place
