One of the best university museums on natural history.

Even though it's closed right now because of the pandemic, it's still a great place to learn so much about our past. Hoping that they reopen sometime soon. I've been here like 3 times already, and am eager to make trip number 4 pretty soon.

Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History has a variety of skeletons, fossils, well-preserved taxidermy and awe inspiring gemstones with a few artifacts here and there. It is loads of fun and educational for those that take an interest in nature. It is a great place to visit for children and adults alike. Make sure to give yourself at least 3 hours for soaking up the sights, taking photos and visiting the gift shop! There is a ramp at the entrance and also an elevator for those in wheelchairs. Thursdays between 2pm and 5pm is pay as you please, but I feel that the experience is definitely worth paying full admission for! :)

We went with my daughters school and they had so much fun!! Definitely a great way for children to learn. Each and every kid that went was very happy and excited to see everything! I personally loved seeing how the ants carry their food back and forth!

The first museum I've been to and I still go there and learn SO much every visit. Extraordinary fossils and skeletons of such bewildering dinosaurs, reptilians, mammals, birds, brachiopods, etc. Their Great Hall is one of my favorite parts of the entire museum (plus the mummy section, bird section, and diorama section). Their cenozoic section is also incredibly interesting (mammoths, sabre-toothed cats, sloths, elk, early homo sapiens, etc). This museum is such a fabulous place! You get to experience and learn so much there!

The museum was still closed due to Covid (July), but we enjoyed coming here every morning just to jog.

This is very nice and very informative museum. It has 3 floors. Lobby or level 1 has dinosaurs and old scripts. Level 2 consists of animals and related to human evolution and level 3 is very beautiful and consists of rocks and minerals. Tells about meteorite, minerals etc. One must visit this museum when in new haven. For kids it is specially very much like activity based as there are people on these floors with creative ways to explain them about the artefacts.

Nice place for kids. A bit all over the place (what’s the point of the Egyptian part, so small it does not add value.) worth for the stones only (crazy quartz.) we all wait for the renovation: the dinosaur part looks so dusty. Good time and everybody is very friendly.
