I am an occupational therapist, OTR. One big misunderstanding that occurred between the recruiter and myself that I want others to be aware of is this: the recruiter made an offer of an hourly rate (as a PRN employee of company, paid on W-2) , which was about 12 more than the actual eal\ rate as designed in black and white on the paycheck bc they claimed that payroll taxes, etc. being taken out. So make sure you ask (and get in writing) the actual hourly rate that will be written in black and white on the paycheck. If ANY company makes me an offer of a specific hourly rate, I expect to see that rate on my paycheck (then fed, states, etc. taxes get removed as always) - for example, if a recruiter anywhere offers me 55/hour, that is exactly the rate I expect to see on my paycheck. But in this case with RA, the actual rate that was written on my paycheck was 12 less that what I expected and agreed to. So bottom line is this: just make sure you ask for and get the actual hourly rate in writing that will appear in black and white on your paycheck, before starting your job.
