Technician was fine, however sears is a rip off. I was informed that if I paid 160 for inspection that that amount would go to repair if I chose too fix it,which I did. Then tech said no its added to total. I paid over 400.00 for a part that costs between 10 and 20 bucks, complete rip off. Onto of that sears asked for my card I fo and said I would be charged after visit was complete. Tech now said he needs a check and that my card won't be charged. It better not be, I'm already mad about getting ripped off the plus 400 dollars.

Used Sears Repair Service because I thought that a large, reputable company generally try to live up to its name value. As I expected making an appointment was very easy via online. There were several timely reminders up until the service date. The technician was on time and professional. The only, but most important issue? Pricing! My dryer was making some noisy, and all the technician had to do was replace two small wheels. By the time he arrived, found the issue, replace those two wheels and put it back together, it took only 25 minutes. He charged whopping 307 labor charge. It's about 600 per hour rate. Just mind boggling and still can't believe it. The technician said it doesn't matter how easy or how complex the job is, and he is an only messenger and no say on how much a customer should be charged. I would categorize this pricing as \RIPOFF\ by the company advertising the \good old trust value\ Now I am regretting and I should have used a local, neighborhood company. Never ever use Sears Repair Service again, and I will go out of my way to let others know.
When I opened my Sears dryer door the dryer did not stop turning and there was no light. I called for service and got through quickly, made an appointment, and a lovely and professional young man came and said that a part was broken. This was on a Tuesday. The part was ordered and the same mechanic came back on Friday of the same week and replaced the broken part quickly. He also checked the dryer and cleaned the hose. I was extremely pleased with the services s especially the mechanic who was knowledgeable and professional.
We had set up a appointment to get out stove top checked out. The burners were not working as well as they used to. The technician sent over by sears came, turned the stove top on, turned it off and said they work completely fine. When we tried telling him the issue he did not listen to us and said things like “i have been doing this for over 12 years” and kept saying theres nothing wrong with the burners. He must have been there for a total of 6 minutes (30 seconds which he spent to turn the stove on and off and the rest to argue with me). Complete waste of time.
The technician was very knowledgeable and diagnosed/repaired my broken compressor in 3 hours. Their rate was a bit high IMO and seems to price in a way to get you to sign up for their annual repair service where they give you 50% off the job. Not sure why all the negative reviews on the web but I guess we will see this year if any prove true.
