My mother spent her last 6 months in the dementia unit at Engleburn and the staff caring for her were truly exceptional. She wasn’t just treated with respect and dignity but genuine love and that is something no amount of money can buy.

I don't understand the low rating. My Gran has been a resident for a few months now and we can't be happier. Staff are all fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. The food is good and there is daily entertainment.

My partners father was given VERBAL notice to leave with the words of the manager. " I don't care where he goes he is out in 14 days" This was because I asked about some bruising on his inner thigh that had occurred during an injection for diabetes. And before the owners hit the speed dial for the lawyers,I would like to point out this outburst from the manager was witnessed by independent witnesses. I have to say the staff are brilliant but badly lead by a manager who seems to be preoccupied in running a nursery for young children then a residential care home.

My Mother recent needed an urgent placement as my Dad had to go to hospital. He lives in Poole and initially the thought of Barton-on-Sea at such a stressful time was worrying due to the distance. However, ALL the staff we met and spoke with at Engleburn regardless of level went above and beyond helpful. Everyone from Daz, Sophie through to Jenny and Tracey (sorry if I spelt that wrong) and others in between. Nothing was too much to ask for and the initiative shown was in my mind second to none. My Mother requires very special care and they took it in their stride to make sure she was looked after properly. The building and grounds are immaculate everything smells fresh and all the people (staff and residents) all smile and are happy. Even when my Mother returned home, they called later to make sure everything was ok and hoped us all well. I have had dealings with care homes and day centres and this one is second to none. I would highly recommend this place.
