I am not from NOLA and it was my first time at Red Rooster. The service was great, southern hospitality at its finest. I ordered a bit of everything. I ordered Two snowballs Mardi Gras and Strawberry with condensed milk. They were both delicious and they came with a large top. I also ordered Fried fish that was seasoned to perfection, fried well, and it was juicy with a nice crunch. As I only ordered the fish it came with a Hawaiian roll. Best combination hands down. Double cheese burger combo fully dressed With a side of French fries. The burger was seasoned well and the toppings were perfectly topped, tossed on not sloppily. Presentation was everything. Lastly, I ordered the shrimp yetcamein the broth was seasoned well and the shrimp was cooked perfectly, not over cooked. The noodles were a little too much for the small soup I had. It over powered the dish and if I could get it with less noodles next time that would be all that I would change. I highly recommend giving Red Rooster a try. You will most certainly get your monies worth.

I had the Yaka-Mein. I think the beef and chicken was cut up too small, and the shrimp also was tiny. A little pricey for the neighborhood.

This FRIENDLY place has been around for a long time. It's SPECIAL to me, bcus this was my dad's hangout many years ago. A nice RED shack with cool treats/snow balls, great food (best yakamein), sandwiches, and more. *If you get that taste for a snowball or yakamein DON'T hesitate.....stop by!* PLENTY OF STREET PARKING....WHY ARE YOU WAITING STILL? I have been eating at this place since I was a small child riding my bike from LaSalle down Washington Ave. to get snowballs, etc. Stopped by on Monday and had my favorite hamburger combo which is ground beef, no frozen mystery meat. My daughter had the hot sausage on french and she is still asking me was the bread baked that morning because it was soft as cotton, lol.
