Zita’s Homemade Ice Cream was highly recommended to me so I came in with high expectations. I, personally, thought the ice cream was overall just ok. I had the oatmeal cookie, chocolate thunder, and monster cookie flavors. I had better oatmeal cookie flavor ice cream, but overall it was ok. The chocolate thunder was suppose to have brownie dough pieces, and my scoop contained not one. The Cookie Monster flavor was suppose to have Nutter Butter cookies in it which are my favorite, but there wasn’t much mix ins in that scoop either. I was expecting it to taste more like peanut butter, but it didn’t. Overall, again it was ok/good, but for me I prefer more mix ins in my ice cream especially when it says it suppose to contain something, and it doesn’t.

Great neighborhood ice cream shop. This is a popular local place when you want good ice cream at a reasonable price. It gets pretty busy during the summer and the line can go out the door. It’s great that they take credit cards now (they used to only take cash). There is a 10 minimum if you want to pay via credit card.

One of the best ice creams ( )in this neighborhood and surroundings I had so far.. they have a good variety of ice creams & shakes. Summer time is pretty busy and they have a nice sitting arrangement outside. Staff is friendly and service is really quick. Be mindful that they only accept credit card on 10 or above..

Reminded me of the ridiculously delicious soft ice cream from Kyoto. Yeah them Japanese take ice cream to the extreme. Zita's is up there and likely best in NJ in my opinion..
