I have been renting my daughter's cello from New York Quality Strings (Eliot) for the past 4 years. Our cello teacher highly recommended Eliot because he took great care of other students. We obviously loved the interaction. We have upgraded the size twice, changed additional two times due to damage ( NYC subway) and finally purchased a full size today. Also changed a bag, bow, one of the strings in the past... Every interaction for the past 4 years has been positive. As for the instruments offered, (tried both basic model and an upgraded one), they are excellent in quality and value. I am only a high school orchestra level person but the cello that my daughter plays sounds much better than some of other cellos we have used in other venues and while looking around for the final purchase. I will definitely return to Eliot for future purchases and upgrades.

I've rented a cello from NY Quality Strings for my child for the last two years. I researched and visited several rental instrument places in Manhattan before I chose Quality Strings, and it was absolutely the right choice. Elliot's customer service is above and beyond - he has fixed a snapped string on short notice, traded in a warped bow for a new one, and in general, has always responded to our issues promptly and courteously.

I had an excellent experience renting a full size, quality-category violin for 3 months. Elliot is wonderful, responds quickly to my questions via email and arranges for me to receive the instrument the very same day I placed my order. Returning the instrument was just as easy. The violin is well made and has a warm lovely sound. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to rent an instrument!

I highly recommend this place if you are looking to rent quality violins! Every school year, I go to Elliot's to rent my violin since his instruments are just amazing. They are high quality at reasonable prices! Elliot is also accessible through both email and phone, so the process of renting and dropping off becomes very easy.

If you are looking for a rental violin of any size, this is the place to to go! The quality of the instruments is so great that every violin teacher asked us where we got them. On top of that, the price is much less than other violin shops. We rented for 5 years until my daughter was ready for an adult size and bought one. This is also a good place to buy accessories at lower prices. Strongly recommended!
