I had to contact the clerk's office for a case I'm working on. I politely asked the person I spoke to if he could look up the case in question on the docket, and he raised his voice and said \NO.\ I thought clerk's office is there to assist the public. I work in a law firm so I have an understanding how basic things work in the legal field, and this is the kind of treatment I received. I can't imagine what kind of treatment a person with no legal knowledge would receive. He was pretty impatient and couldn't wait to hang up the phone with me. I have spoken to many other clerks from different districts and none of them have been this rude and unhelpful.
