I originally posted a review after a great experience however I was relatively disappointed with my latest experience. We came for the free flowing Fridays and we pushed back our reservation from 7:45 to 8pm, however they stopped serving us drink at 9:45 stating we had even there for "over 2 hours". To add to that the last drink they gave us was my partners pint of beer, whilst I finished my 125ml of prosecco 2 minutes later and was refused a top up. We ordered a dessert off the main menu really to make sure we were utilising our 2 hours but I wish we hadn't bothered as 2 minutes later our drinks were prematurely cut off. Between 9:45 and 22:15 (the time of this review) no staff even came over to offer us the bill or any additional paid drinks, so I finished the evening with sitting around for over 30 minutes with no drink and no service. To be completely honest it put a downer on the evening and ruined our meal out.

Took my lads for a Christmas eve Breakfast, Staff were pleasant enough and after ordering breakfast I thought coffee came along quickly only to find I had been given tea which dribbled out of the spout. My sons breakfast too ages to arrive which considering we were only some of the few people there seemed a little much, they told me after it was not very hot. The one thing I kept noticing was the dust on the lamp shades and speakers in the corner, I think they could clean them a little more often. Not sure I would return there again.
Really nice food the staff is always nice too, knocked a star for inconsistency as every time we go we use our Tesco club card points and sometimes we get the whole meal and drinks for free and sometimes we get told that we need to pay for our drinks and as a shock yesterday for a family of 4 we had to pay 30 worth of drinks (no alcohol) and wasted 30 worth of our clubcard points ps. The donuts and camembert breaded starter out of this world and I would I would share the donuts next time as it was quiet a lot for one person.
We went her for an early Christmas party. The staff were very accommodating and very attentive. The food choices were very good all though we ordered from their set Christmas menu. As a large table I was impressed as all our starters arrived hot and in a timely manner. Unfortunately one of the main courses was forgotten and we had to wait for them to cook a new one. After this mishap they offered 50% discount to our drinks bill, even though designated drivers get free soft drinks. Overall O would recommend this place to anybody looking for some good food at food prices.
What Cafe Rouge does, it does well. French styled cuisine is always served well and taste good. I find myself enjoying having lunch there rather than dinner however, as my only criticism I have really is that there doesn't seem to be much active innovation in their menu. By that I mean that I've been there a few times over the course of the year and not often is there a change of menu, there may be one or two new dishes but not much. Considering the menu is pretty streamlined anyway (which isn't a bad thing if you don't visit often), it sometimes leaves you feeling like you've "settled" for a dish rather than being excited at having to choose from numerous new options. Don't let this dissuade you from a visit though, as I said, what they do they do well. Steamed mussels and the steak is always enjoyable and their new (yes new) beef bourginon burger is lovely as is the regular version. The manager is always happy and provides great service.
A nice breakfast served until midday after we had been out for a Christmas Party the night before. A very nice venue, good staff and food was very good. 21 for coffee, a large and normal breakfast with an extra side if the potatoes. You need to try these they are amazing.
Really friendly staff, nice coffee & a beautiful full English breakfast. Only 6.45 English breakfast & 2.60 for an Americano coffee.
Service was simply too slow and bad. I reckon I was there during peak hours but that should've still been handled well. Food was great, will definitely be back during off peak hours this time
