My go to shop for clothing. Now that Debenhams has closed in Reading I guess this is the next best for me, a fair bit smaller than Reading's but in these sad days ( covid 19 ) we have to make the best of what will be left or they will not survive. It was very quiet I cannot see how retail can service like this.

Love Debanhams!!! Gutted Reading one closed down. Now we come to Newbury instead of Reading and never seem to shop in Reading anymore as Debanhams is essential shop for both my Husband and I. The shop is well organised and managed. Staff are helpful. A great place to come for all of our essential wardrobe items but also browsing for something new. Also good for gifts such as cosmetics, perfume, after dinner trivia games etc. And Covid Secure. Highly recommend.
5* for the shop but 1* for staff. Never been impressed with the staff but today got me convinced. I had more items, so the carrier bag was quite big and didn't noticed that she scanned the handbag but didn't put it in. Luckily I was in the area when I noticed that the handbag is missing. Went back for it and found a young man at the till, very bored, he gave me my handbag and that was it. No apologies... I know that mistakes can be made but also policies to follow.
I don't know what it is about it but I just love it.
