The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is good sized. I was a bit confused with the lack of a shower, but the tub fills up fast so it's not a big issue. The rooms loom a bit dated but I think it's a nice bit of charm. Makes it feel it bit more homey. It's close to business, restaurants and stores so very convenient. Overall very nice, but a shower would be appreciated.

4 points because: The hotel was quite centrally located and the grounds are beautiful. Big and comfortable room, not quite A grade but definitely good enough for an overnight stay, the important thing is my room was very warm which was great in this weather. The bathroom was big. Service was okay. 1 Point deducted because: Breakfast could not arrange vegetarian sandwiches or dairy alternates such as soya milk. In fairness I hadn't warned them - however most good hotels keep these stocked for vegetarians / those with a lactose intolerance. The restaurant is currently closed so no dinner our room service was available, and there were no alternate arrangements.

This place is falling apart. The rooms are OK but the rest of the hotel it just about holding together. The staff are great but you can see that they have stopped making excuses in the lack of investment

I stayed here for two nights during a business trip. The main advantage for me was its location (close to the office). The room was very clean and comfortable, with a nice bathroom full bath. Temperature was also perfect. I appreciate that they have a regular WiFi network with a password to connect, instead of those captive networks that require a web-based login... which is often very unreliable. Breakfast was OK, but the restaurant was closed during my stay so I couldn't try the dinner. The place sports a rather classical style which I personally don't fancy that much, but all in all it was a pleasant stay.

One of the most amazing hotels in Newbury, the rooms are superb and are spotless on arrival, the staff offer the best service I have ever seen at a hotel.

Wifi notworking. I am deeply disappointed by the fact that the bathroom had been equipped with Airbath which is not working
