Went in for food on a rainy Saturday lunchtime. Very impressive menu - separate board for vegetarian / vegan. Nice dessert too. All with social distancing requirements implemented clearly

Very solid 4 stars. Been there three times, food was always really good. Large garden, two big verandas to enjoy your meal safely. Yesterday had burgers and steaks which were excellent. Will be returning to eat.

We live very locally and have visited 3 times recently. We very much got the feeling on previous visits that it was a locals pub and felt a little out of place, however I have no complaints from our recent visits. Staff have been really warm and welcoming, theres a great variety of drinks and the food has been delicious and offers lots of choice. Highly recommend

Terrible place! Went in for a couple of drinks last night (ended up with just the one) and was ordered (no bossed) about by some small woman (might has been the manager) with regards to the Covid system they have in place there. She could have said explained their (over the top - in my opinion) system nicer but no, very rude and seemed to enjoy ordering people about. Needless to say, last night was the FIRST and LAST time I will be going there and will not be recommending it to anyone. You would think in these times when pubs are trying to recover they would treat their customers nicer, I know they do in my local town.

I went into The Plough a week ago with my friend and our kids. We found the landlady very friendly and accommodating. We both did come from far away as a meeting point halway for us and not knowing Newbury I just picked a pub and was not dissapointed. We had some light food as it was a very hot day and the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because a few things on the menu were not available. I would go there again. Thank you for looking after us.

Not bad boozer, has a very good covid setup, beer not too expensive

Used to be a nice little family friendly pub but now new managers have construed to ruin the customer experience to such a point I’ll never return. I’d have given 1 star if I could have.

Food looked really good, I didn't eat here. I waited at the bar ages for a drink (on a Friday lunch time) and then others came in and got served before me. I decided to just go an join my friends without a drink and went back around 10 minutes later. Goof served but it still took a while.
