It was reassuring to be able to smell the cleaning products used in the cinema today. People were spaced out to comply with social distancing and all felt safe.

Nice and friendly staff, the seats aren't as comfortable as the showcase competitors and the food is very expensive. The film price is very reasonable, so it makes up for it.

Film, prices, etc was as expected. The restrictions were very poorly managed. We were well distanced in the auditorium, but it was suggested that staff would enforce mask wearing. There were only about 15 people in the screening and it looked like less than half were wearing masks. There were members of staff in the screening, but all they did was walk up and down wiping hand rails and ignored those without masks, including one couple whose phones kept going off. I don't want to take matters into my own hands to ensure other people follow even basic cinema etiquette when staff are there - cinema is expensive enough, even with the current reductions. They need to give viewers an experience worth the money, especially in the current situation. I attended the cinema regularly pre-lockdown, and was hoping to do so again, but maybe not.

So as far cinemas go this one is fairly low spec in terms of facilities it's a bit dated and could use a bit of love but the staff were friendly and everything was nice and tidy. So overall not a bad experience I can't however give the Newbury branch any more than a 3* as it's absolutely extortionate in terms of value for money. I understand that a lot of money goes into making films with each person and company taking its cut and then the cinema has to cover costs and pay staff. With all that in mind then why can I get a better equipped cinema in terms of comfort nice modern layout in the Vue or showcase in reading which is approximately 20 minutes away for half the price? It's actually cheaper to drive put fuel in the car, pay crazy modern car parking than it is to use the local cinema. Which is frankly a bit of a joke

Very good covid-19 measures put in place. I do hope people attending will follow them in future aswell

It's great that Newbury has it's own cinema (since 2009). It was long overdue and had an positive impact on the town. There is nothing wrong with the cinema itself. It has enough screens (7), shows the latest films and sells massively overpriced, poor quality food like every other multiscreen. Tip: go and buy cheap drinks and cookies in Subway and take it in with you. The staff are generally good as well so can't really complain in that respect However the cost is now prohibitive. Tickets are now 13.04 online or 15.04 for VIP tickets that are the same as other cinemas have as standard. Parking in the Kennet Centre keeps going up as well at 3.90 for 3 hours. This contrasts with Reading Vue at 5.74 so with a family that's where we go (or the even better Showcase). The Reading Oracle has a much better choice of eating as well. When we have been there, the screen is nearly always empty. The Kennet Centre has being dying a slow death for years and is due to get redeveloped shortly so it's not going to get any better and I wouldn't be surprised if the cinema does not survive it's closure which would be a shame
