My mother was in need of a facility that understands dementia. Luckily for our family, Avita of Newburyport opened just in time! The care and love she received cannot be matched. She went from living alone and depressed because she realized “something was going wrong with her mind”, to being stimulated the entire day which turned her around into a thriving, happy woman again. She looked forward to the daily activities, having her meals in the four star restaurant with her new friends, and greeting every newcomer or those who visited with a smile and rave review of her new home! I was concerned the first week she was there about how she would do and visited daily. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the staff, who in turn fell in love with each resident. In addition, I needed to gain knowledge about dementia and be able to accept the road my mother was traveling. Each and every staff member guided me down that path and I will forever be grateful for their guidance. It is not an easy journey but with the support groups they ran and special speakers they had, I was able to come terms with the disease and learn how to best help my mom down the path. My mom passed away 3 years ago. I tell everyone with a loved one who has dementia, if at all possible, don’t hesitate to have them move to Avita of Newburyport. My husband and I still say to this day, we are thankful she got to enjoy the final years of her life at Avita!

Avita of Newburyport is the vanguard of memory care and will far exceed your expectations. The warmth and compassion felt begins with the friendly and knowledgeable receptionists who are eager to help in anyway they can. Step onto the neighborhoods and feel the ambiance of caring. Here, you will find the most kindhearted, dedicated nurses, caregivers and activity personnel. They embrace the person centered approach, where every individual is respected, loved and cared for unconditionally. Programs are successful at engaging the residents in meaningful activities throughout the day and are enjoyed by all. You feel a sense of family in the neighborhoods that cannot be manufactured without the work of the devoted staff. The success of Avita is a testament to the extraordinary leadership team and their willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to support the needs of the residents. Take a look at Avita you will not be disappointed. Tracy Ann Ramos, Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, President, First choice community Medical services.

My husband has lived at Avita of Newburyport for the past three years. His care has been exemplary, the food is delicious and the activities varied and interesting.. The staff is so caring and the management is the best of the best. The director truly cares about the residents for which I am so grateful. I have, and will continue to recommend Avita to anyone looking for a safe, caring home for a loved one.

During the pandemic I worked at Avita of Newburyport as a member of the concierge team. The entire staff is comprised of caring professionals in every department. Family members have access to a responsive management team. If my loved ones require memory care in the future I would absolutely look to Avita of Newburyport.

Carol, my wife for more than 50 years, has had her memory deteriorate so severely that we were no longer able to live together in our home. We wed 12 weeks after we met and she is now at Avita and this is the first time that we have ever been separated. I can't tell you how relieved I am that she is living with folks who are not only skilled but genuinely compassionate about what they do.
