Made a booking for 4ppl, but there wasn't enough seats at the table they had set aside for us. When they took our drinks order they completely missed the first drink we ordered and it ended up arriving half way through our meal 20mins after our coffees had arrived. The food came out in a timely manner even though they were busy; and it was delicious! It was also well presented and good portion sizes. The staff were friendly even if a few seemed a bit green (not sure how long they've been open, it's been a while since we've ventured into Newcastle). And when we were leaving they discounted the late drink off. Would definitely come back!

The food here is in a league of it's own. Some of the most exceptional food I've eaten out at a cafe. However when it comes to the quality of the coffee and service I was severely disappointed. Our coffees took 20 minutes to come out despite the cafe not actually being very busy at all. I had to go remind them what our order was again just to make sure we actually got our drinks. The coffee itself tasted so bitter and burnt that no amount of sugar could improve it. I legitimately thought it was just instant coffee by the taste. When we went up to the front counter to pay I was charged the wrong amount. I got told that the lamb roll (14) and my coffee (7) added up to a total of 25.50 but when I questioned this the staff didn't bother checking and just told me that's what the cost was. I would have pushed again but she was so rude I really just wanted to get out of there as soon as I could. It really is a shame as the people in the kitchen do phenomenal work. If I return here it will be to get lunch for takeaway and then go to a different cafe for coffee.
Great place where I enjoyed breakfast over the Easter long weekend with a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. It offers modern Australian meals with a twist. The location is very convenient and close to our accommodation at the Rydges hotel in the Honeysuckle precinct. There is ample space and tables are well spaced apart with outdoor and indoor seating options. The menu is very eclectic with enough coverage to suit most tastes. There is a kid’s menu and my kids had the beans on toast and pancakes. They enjoyed the good portion sizes for kids. My kids are pretty fussy eaters but did enjoy their meals but did mention that there may have been a little too much sauce with the beans. My wife ordered the breakfast plank and had the elements you would expect in a breakfast set, the highlight was the potato stack. I love trying more exotic dishes so I went with the Nasi Goreng, this was a quirky take on the traditional Nasi Goreng, but was enjoyable. The service was great and loved the décor and they were very COVID safe.
Good service, food and prices. Not the most scenic of spots but walkable and coffee is decent ! Parking right outside too on meter.
Great Food. best I have had in a long time, I had the Bryon bowel, but I think I would have prefer it to be a Bryon plate as it would have been easer to eat.
The service was great with friendly staff that were happy to help with my questions. Food was good and served in a short time frame which is good if your after a quick meal. They offer takeaway option for those that need to get going even quicker. All in all it was a great meal and a good atmosphere to experience it in.
Food disappointingly below average after so many good things I've heard about this place. Im giving only 2stars based on service- wait staff were lovely and The location. The poster on the way to toilets in this day and age should be reviewed. Its degrading and objectifies women. You're a cafe not a strip joint.
Not just food but service is excellent too. Staff is kind & helpful. Food is expensive but portions are generous too.
