The Bogey Hole, this little hidden gem in Newcastle is quite amazing. Rock pool built on the edge of the water naturally filled by sea water There is free parking just above it with a staircase leading down to the bottom. The water is usually super clear but due to recent rain it was quite murky but still beautiful Jonique Life” Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

A hidden gem and a nice place to visit. Its recommended to be a bit careful if you are getting down close to the water. But its a wonder and a nice experience visiting here

Cool rock pool, water is a bit warmer than in the ocean, however it can be pretty dangerous place due to waves so hold children climb on the rocks

It's about a 5 min walk down from where you can park. There are some submerged rocks in the pool that you could stub a toe on, but otherwise its a good spot to go for a dip. There are no shower towers or facilities in the immediate vicinity.

This place is secluded area. A bit slippery surface due to moss and algae. Not many space to put your stuff and relax, because it is a small space somekind like rockpool. Can find this place on the way from Newcastle beach to Merewether Beach within Memorial Coastal Walk.

The Bogey Hole is one of Newcastle's hidden gems, tucked away below King Edward Park. You can walk here taking in the scenic Bathers Way Walk too, from Newcastle Beach or from Bar Beach & The Anzac Memorial Walk. It can get busy here on hot days, & can be tricky navigating your footing over rocks to find a place to sit or lie, but it's well worth visiting. The waves crash in over the swimming hole, so it's super fun, & the water is always refreshing here.

Fabulous spot. Quite a few stairs down but that's what makes it special. Perched on the edge overlooking the ocean, its just a lovely place to swim
