Europcar at Newcastle caused us a lot of stress and nearly ruined our holiday - we were running late for a 10am pickup, so we tried calling at 9.50am to try to let them know. Nobody picked up the phone and when we got to the service desk at 10.15am we were told they had given our pre-booked car and car seat away and there were no alternative cars for us to hire. We ended up catching a taxi to Maitland as the lovely staff at Thrifty tracked down a car there for us. I’ve never left a bad google review before but I really think this needs to be shared so others don’t end up in the pickle we did, due to their terrible service.
Picked up the car during covid at Sydney airport, huge rush, they had me sign the contract before we collected the keys, we didn't take photos (mistake), europcar pinned the pre-existing damage on us (damage was full of rust). We were strung along for three months until common sense prevailed. Shame our Christmas this year was overshadowed by the threat of a 5k excess.

just want to give a nice review for the guy who was working on the 30/11/2020. He was there all alone and did a fantastic job with all of the stress he was under. Still managed to smile and have a laugh after a rough day. I hope his manager sees this and gets him a bottle of Baileys for his troubles! I actually bought a bottle for him when I returned the car but the office was closed! Wish I could remember his name. Either way, good job!!
Some guy called "Raynall" stole a car from them and through shear chance of writing down a random phone number put my number down on their registry. Ive been getting calls for months from various number asking about the car only for whoever i tell to not listen that i am not this raynall character. Very poor cutomer service and nobody i know will ever be using Europcar.
Great service. thoroughly enjoyed the drive . A free upgrade was most appreciated. Quite happy to use them again
Don't expect any fast efficient collection. Been waiting outside their carpark office. When arrived there was a queue of 10, now after 40 min queue still 7. Ridiculously slow
