John was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful in assessing my needs and fitting me with my hearing aids. John's follow up service has been extraordinary. I went and saw John last evening, he was very friendly and easy going. What really wowed me was his willingness to accmodate my schedule and short time in the area. I'm thankful for him providing me with the hearing test at no cost to me, as all the medical exams required for police application processes can add up. So thank you John for donating your time and expertise. Also thank you Rebecca Thistle for referring me, it means the world to me to have received yours and John's help. Would recommend John to anyone, he is accommodating, friendly and professional. Also their covid-19 protocols were followed promptly which I also appreciated especially during this time where adjusting to the new normal is difficult for some.

What an amazing find. From my first visit John and his staff have been very friendly and professional. I originally came in with a hearing aid issue which John promptly repaired. I was then back for a long overdue hearing test and John adjusted my aids to a much better level. I was back again today with an issue with my other hearing aid and John was able to repair it as well. At no time was there any pressure to change my hearing aids. In conversation John is very knowledgeable about his products and mine as well. I would highly recommend Newcastle Hearing solutions.

I took my 3 year old daughter to see Dr John Thistle this afternoon. We were immediately greeted by a receptionist with a kind smile and warm manner. She took the time to interact and talk to my daughter about her favourite stuffy which comforted my daughter immensely. Dr John Thistle was everything the reviews say he is and more! He took his time getting to know my daughter 1st. She is a complicated patient as she has had a few negative experiences at other ear specialists, which has left her very apprehensive. He showed her everything, took the time to explain things to her. Showed us with a camera what her issue was. He even went as far as to put her favourite movie on TV to ease her anxiety. He displayed patience when needed and allowed my daughter breaks when she needed them. We had more success today than we have ever had at any ear specialist in the past. We look forward to continuing my daughter's care with Dr Thistle and his staff. If you are looking for a specialist who genuinely cares about his profession and his patients look no further! After two doctors , one specialist and another Hearing Test, John was the first one that showed me any compassion for my hearing loss. He was not just trying to sell me a hearing aid. He explained to me what happened and took his time with me -I never felt rushed .Stayed past closing time and I was not charged for the test like I was at the Bowmanville Clinic .John offered to follow up with me in 6 months to make sure nothing has progressed!! Would highly recommend this place , we need more people like John in the medical field!! Thanks Again John !

I had been avoiding getting my hearing tested for fear of what working years in a night club had done to them. After my daughter was born it was time. John is friendly and personable. He went over the tests and explained my results. He was honest in my assessment, professional and courteous. If you are like me and have been putting it off, don't.
