Very good meals. Quick service. Clean . If you're looking to impress this is the place! All our meals were perfect, chicken , octopus & seafood cooked beautifully. Highly recommended by us all.

Great location. Great service, waiter staff were all very attentive. Meals arrived in excellent timing. We had a window seat so the view was great. Parking is available right at the door. I had the mushroom risotto for entree and it was amazing. All our other meals were excellent. Would highly recommend Scratchleys for lunch or dinner....

Scratchley’s is a good lunch destination at the heart of Newcastle, especially if you’re a big fan of seafood. Personally, I don’t eat as much crustaceans as the next guy but the seafood that I did try like crab, calamari and the like, were very delicious and filling. The sauce in the platter was great for dipping chips in and the fruit was just as tasty. Also, the schnitzel I ordered was to die for, the gravy was delicious and it had a very nice salad on the side as well. In conclusion, Scratchley’s on the Wharf is a good place to eat lunch nearby the coast of Newcastle and if you plan on getting a Seafood platter for two, just expect a feast when it comes out of the kitchen!

First time visit. Impressed by the many waterfront tables in this large airy restaurant , friendly service and great food .Many fish specials to choose from while watching the passing parade of boat traffic large and small. Good choice of beers and wines or cocktails.

Well we were off to a great start with the friendly and efficient waitress then it was downhill..seafood chowder was nice but filled with vegetables, oysters were good, salt and pepper calamari was good. Husband ordered the lobster mornay and that was ordinary. I had the ocean trout and that was ordinary. Over priced and boring. Overall we were quite disappointed. We won't be back.

First time visitor to this restaurant, came for lunch, this establishment is co-vid safe, very clean premises, staff were friendly & obliging, menu selection I found to be some what limited in availability of choice, although the food was exceptional in taste, quality & presentation, my overall experience was pleasant, seated by the window, had a great view of Newcastle Harbour, you'd need to travel a long way too find better. Worth the visit, highly recommended.

My two good friends and work colleagues went here to dine for a birthday. The food was terrific. They were patient with us when we were late, wine glasses were kept topped up and the general atmosphere was warming. The food, was also delicious.
