Give this review to Barker and Stonehouse rather than THE Store Newcastle. Order a bed for more than 2k and found the side table (tray) is a fault and cannot be installed. The table is broken and the pole was broken inside the tube and could not be taken out. Call for the customer service and be told they would arrange a technician to fix it. Wait for more than 3 weeks the technician arrived then only stayed 5mins and be informed could not do anything. Call back to the customer service and be told will arrange a new part for us. After 1 month the new part arrived then found we still need to take the broken part out of the tube by ourselves. Spent the entire morning (from 0830 to 1130) after using lots of lubricants and a strong spanner from B&q, the broken part is out and the new part can be inserted. BTW, the bed just 4 months old. Still waiting for the customer service call me back as they promised within a maximum of 48hours. Time waster. What a funny thing is I am a professor teaching Customer service topic in a uni, while have seen a TERRIBLE customer service in my life. Hope can give negative feedback.

This store is filled with lots of different things, very contemporary stuff and some modern stuff too. I particularly like the selection of garden furniture. It's a little on the pricey side, but the quality is high: this is no IKEA. It's worth a visit to the shop just to look around because there are some really fun things to see - two mirrors in the pics.

Visited the Newcastle store yesterday. Customer service appalling. Bought a lamp and cushions couldn't get a member of staff to take any interest at all in taking payment. One member of staff on first floor was busy with another customer who told me to try downstairs, 2 members of staff chatting together downstairs directed me back upstairs I told them there was no one at the payment kiosk and they said someone would come. We had all of the cushions and lamp together on the payment desk saw 2 more members of staff as they swiftly walked passed (no eye contact ) as we said "excuse me could we pay". Eventually, the Second person started putting through the till and wouldnt sell me 2 of the cushions I'd picked up priced at 65 each he told me I'd have to order them in. I dont understand that the were ticketed at price and there was nothing to indicate they were order only . I suggested id look in john Lewis and fenwick and id take the details incase I needed to order. He gave me what he said I needed ( no cat no) and there's nothing online with that description. The whole shop were totally disinterested in customers. Very poor service, I work in retail and wouldnt have a job in my store if I had their work ethics. Won't be back, and will definitely buy 2 cushions elsewhere.

Poor quality furniture, over priced and does not last. I fear we are paying for their expensive retail units while they supply poor quality "stylish furniture" backed up with poor customer service. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Fell over a glass table at the entrance to the store and not a single member of their staff came over to see if I was hurt... despite being stood around doing absolutely nothing.

Lovely furniture and very good quality. Pricey but you get what you pay for and you will know it will last.
