Avoid this place ...I bought a 120.00 netbook and it was faulted I went to shop showed the receipt and told them what was wrong, but I have been refused a refund,I have contacted head office and their policy states of an item is faulted you're entitled to a refund within the 90day warranty which I have,my daughter is autistic and is heartbroken as it was bought for her birthday and all she goes on is yoville and Facebook but what angered me was the disgusting attitude from a certain employee in the shop who I presumed was the manager,"we will have to look at it and see what the issue is as a virus might have went onto it" and we need to see if that is the reason it is crashing and why it's showing unable to download flash player and not enough memory and why some buttons don't work on it ....I never though a virus could do that to a netbook also the other remark was "second hand shop" what's that supposed to mean ? Is it not law to have to check items before they go on shop floor to the customer and have to be fit for purpose ....

Decent selection of items, got a very good guitar amp for very cheap, although power cable was unusable, they offered to replace it.

Like to pop in here during my lunch break as great selection of DVDs and video games. Got some cracking deals from here in the past including a Bose sound system and various video games. Staff are friendly too. Overall, great place to buy from. Everything has a guarantee too, . However, I would not sell anything here as you get a very low price, but if you need cash quickly then I guess it's an option.

Maybe this is just an isolated incident with the Tyne and Wear store but I have just discovered that Cash Converters are selling Second Hand goods as NEW on AMAZON Marketplace. I only discovered this, moments before placing an order when I felt the need to check seller information and discovered the goods wouldn't have been new, despite being sold as such. The store in question and to be clear, CashConverters head office too, both defend such listings on the basis that such goods would have been unopened and in their eyes, selling such items as NEW was not misleading. Fortunately for us, Trading Standards and the LAW are quite clear on the matter: "The Trades Descriptions Act and the Sale of Goods Act both say that goods have to be as described. Therefore for a product to be called "new" there should have been no transfer to anyone else between the shop and the purchaser. "Even if something is bought and then brought back the next day it is still second-hand," Shortly after I complained, the item was removed, despite an email they sent advising me the now sell 'NEW' items of which the one I nearly ordered was one of them. The item was being sold for a silly price of just 279.99 (RRP 449.95) but it WASN'T new; the store had already stated as much. It's also telling that the item was pulled shortly after before I could send it to AMAZON. Fortunately (or maybe not) I have found other items sold as 'NEW' by ccconsett (Tyne and Wear Cash Converters) and finding more as we speak. Screen-grabs are being taken in scripted search of the store as we speak. For those that use AMAZON and were expecting brand new goods, for love of god, be careful with Marketplace sellers and be on the lookout for CashConverters in the 'Seller Information' link. I really was seconds away from placing an order until I smelled a rat :-(

BEWARE this store is involved in illegal scams I bought an Apple watch 180 got it home could only get demo mode took it back to cash converters Clayton street they called me a liar and wouldn't change it - claiming that I hadn't got it there despite having a receipt. Their staff are up to no good I am having to get the police involved. Please be careful with your hard earned cash these people are crooks!
