Fantastic place for a walk with great views and lots of woodland walks, the stables have a cafe for light bites and hot / cold drinks and other snacks .

Beautiful place.ideal for a lovely walk out,but try to pick a nice day only place to shelter is the stable part halfway round or the cafe at the beginning
Lovely place to grab a cuppa and slice of cake whilst you're out on your walk. Try milking the pretend cow too. Very clean and friendly.
Part of the NT property at Gibside. It has one of the best 2nd hand honesty bookshops to be found at a NT property with comfy chairs and sofas if you just wish to browse, dogs welcome inside. The cafe is pleasant with limited indoor seating, but there are plenty of tables in the central courtyard. The toilet block is large and well kept. Several of the buildings are home to local artisans including a beauty therapist.
Nice little walk to get there. Peaceful when you are. Dogs catered for too.
There's a café, second-hand book shop and you can learn the history of the stables. The café was closing when we were there so I cannot say much about that, but we got a few books for our son in the book shop, so that was good. Nothing much else to say about it.
This area of Gibside has improved steadily over the years, several interesting features now, indoor play for young/small children, interactive nature exhibits, a great little quiet book area which used to be a families front room, a nice cafe serving hot food and an area documenting developments.
Historically it's a fantastic place to have day's out and a lot for the kids too join in with.
